As a high school athlete, Allocco won all-state honors in football, basketball, and baseball, and was scholar-athlete of the year for the class of 1971. He has been head basketball coach of De La Salle High School (Concord, Calif.) since 1997. Sports Faith International inducted Allocco into its Hall of Fame as 2012 Coach of the Year. This national award is presented each year to an outstanding coach who is a role model for Catholic students.
