Barbara Johnston is currently a university photographer at Notre Dame. She worked as a staff photographer for The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1989 to 2008. She has covered local, national and international assignments including the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, the Kentucky Derby, two Triple Crown Belmont Stakes and the 2008 and 2009 World Series. She traveled to Italy and Ireland for a serial story titled “Catholic Crossroads in Europe.” Her work has appeared in major publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, People, Life Magazine and Newsweek. Her work has also been published on the book cover and inside of “Millennium Philadelphia: By the staff of The Philadelphia Inquirer” and “Champions: A Look Back At The Phillies Triumphant 2008 Season.” Johnston has placed in national and regional awards competitions including NPPA Best of Photojournalism, Keystone Press, and Editor & Publisher, Photos of the Year.

Mike Bennett and his wife, Sue, have been photographing Notre Dame events for the past 29 years. They own Lighthouse 
Imaging which maintains the sports displays in Heritage Hall at the Joyce Center and have produced the official Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore football calendar for the last eight years. In 2003 Mike was awarded an honorary monogram from the University for his longtime service to the athletics department. The Notre Dame Club of Saint Joseph Valley also honored him in 2006 with the University of Notre Dame Award of the Year.

Matt Cashore, a 1994 Notre Dame graduate, is one of the official photographers for the University of Notre Dame. He has been shooting photos on the Notre Dame campus since 1990 and has been a regular at Irish sporting events for years. He has contributed extensively to Notre Dame Magazine and has had his sports photos published in Sports Illustrated, New York Times and ESPN The Magazine. He teamed with Notre Dame Magazine editor Kerry Temple to produce the 2007 book Celebrating Notre Dame.

John Konstantaras is a freelance 
photojournalist who has worked in the Chicago area for more than 25 years. He currently works with the Chicago News Cooperative by providing photos for the Chicago edition of the New York Times. Formerly a Chicago Tribune picture editor, he has edited and photographed major Chicago sports, news, features and business events. He has worked on books about the Chicago Bears and the White Sox World Series championship and edited special sections on the Olympics, the Bears and 
the Cubs. Konstantaras was a member 
of the Tribune team that won the 2001 
Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Journalism for “Gateway to Gridlock,’’ a series on 
air-traffic congestion.

Peter Tobias is a freelance photographer based in Philadelphia. He has completed assignments for the PEW Charitable 
Trusts, Comcast, and Corbis and was a staff photojournalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1993 to 2008 where he covered a wide range of international, national and regional assignments. He has photographed stories in Somalia, Sierra Leone, India and the Niger Delta, and covered the post-9/11 conflict in the Middle East. He has received national awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, the National Headliners Award, the Knight Ridder Excellence Awards for his work in Central Asia and Pictures of the Year.

Cashore coordinated the art for Strong of Heart: Profiles of Notre Dame Athletics 2010 and personally shot the images of Tim Abromaitis, Paul and Linda Demo, Kevin Dugan, Danielle Green, Teddy Hodges, Joe Montana, Joe Piane, Adam Sargent, John Scully, Jen Sharron, Chris Stewart, Laurie Wenger and Jimmy Zannino.
