Lauren Chval, a 2013 University of Notre Dame graduate, currently works for the Chicago Tribune Media Group. She has written for the Notre Dame athletic department for the last five years, penning features for the University’s football game programs, for UND.com, as well as authoring the column “Senior Season” during the 2012 football season. During her time at Notre Dame, Chval’s work was published in Re:Visions, an on-campus literary magazine, and she received a top-20 finish in The New York Times Modern Love essay contest. This represents her first Strong of Heart contribution.
