Malcolm Moran, director of the Sports Capital Journalism Program at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, covered Notre Dame over a span of 25 years for The New York Times, Chicago Tribune and USA Today. He was the inaugural Knight Chair in Sports Journalism and Society at Penn State University. He is a past president of the United States Basketball Writers Association and a member of its Hall of Fame. In 2007, he was awarded the Curt Gowdy Print Media Award for lifetime coverage of basketball by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
